Our fantastic round trip around the Cape Peninsula begins in the vibrant city of Cape Town, at the foot of the majestic Table Mountain. Along the way, we discover eight marvellous beaches, from the chic sun worshippers of Clifton to hidden treasures such as Llandudno. A particular highlight is the visit to the Cape of Good Hope, where we gaze out into the endless sea at the ‘most south-westerly point in Africa’. In Simon’s Town, we are greeted by the lively penguins of Boulders Beach, who enchant every visitor with their playful behaviour. We end the day at the Olympia Cafe in Kalk Bay, where the lively atmosphere and delicious local cuisine provide the perfect end to our day.

As we glide upwards in the cable car, a picturesque panorama of the city unfolds below us, embraced by the azure blue Atlantic Ocean. After marvelling at the wonders of the summit, we immerse ourselves in the lively diversity of BoKaap. This historic district enchants with a kaleidoscope of colourful houses that glow in the South African sun. Every corner tells a story, every colour its own fairy tale. Later, we stroll through charming DeWaterkant, where the modern boutiques and cafés contrast with the colourful facades. The day ends with dinner in one of the city’s finest restaurants, where the flavours of Cape Town enchant our senses and we reflect on the eventful day over a glass of local wine.

A visit to the MOCAA Museum is a must. An architectural marvel that houses the rich history of African art. Here we sample local delicacies and listen to the rhythmic sounds of street musicians who fill the air with joie de vivre. The day ends at the top of Signal Hill, from where we watch a breathtaking sunset that bathes the sky in a magnificent play of colours as the city below us wraps itself in twilight. In the early hours of the morning, as the first rays of sunshine creep over the majestic peaks of Table Mountain, our adventure begins. Our first stop is the enchanting Kirstenbosch Garden, a green paradise that enchants with its magnificent variety of indigenous plants and flowers. As we stroll through the colourful flowering paths, we are surrounded by a symphony of birdsong and the gentle murmur of streams. In the afternoon, we immerse ourselves in the vibrant Central Business District of Cape Town. Here, amidst the lively streets where modern architecture meets historic buildings, we experience a fascinating mix of cultures, art and culinary delights. The day ends with a relaxing sunset on the soft, golden sandy beach, where the rhythmic sound of the waves and the warm South African sun soothe our souls.

Hermanus – a favourite wine region*

We start the day with a cosy breakfast on the terrace while the first rays of sunlight bathe the majestic Table Mountain in a warm glow. The air is fresh and invigorating, and the chirping of the birds accompanies the crackling of the fresh bread rolls. After this relaxed start, we continue on a fascinating drive along one of the most beautiful roads in South Africa. The route winds along the picturesque False Bay, where the turquoise-coloured sea laps gently against the shore and the scent of the ocean wafts through the air. The destination is Hermanus / Stanford, known for its breathtaking views and the possibility of whale watching (unfortunately only in October / November). The day ends with dinner in a cosy local restaurant. Here we enjoy traditional South African cuisine, listen to the stories of the locals and feel the warm hospitality.

The next stop is a spontaneous visit to the chapel of Ataraxia, a hidden gem that combines tranquillity and beauty. We enjoy lunch at Spookfontein, a charming place that enchants us with culinary delights and a touch of mystery. After this indulgence, we continue our journey and make our way to Franschhoek, full of anticipation for further discoveries and unforgettable experiences in this picturesque region of South Africa.

The route then takes us to Franschhoek, where we visit the renowned Plaisir de Merle and Boschendal wine farms. Here, surrounded by picturesque vineyards, we discover the secrets of winemaking and savour the unique atmosphere. Later, in the picturesque wine farms of Stellenbosch, we savour the delicious local wines. The rolling hills, covered with endless vines, offer a breathtaking view. Our journey of discovery takes us to the historic town, where time seems to have stood still. Old buildings with Dutch architecture line the streets.

In the warm morning sun, we set off on an expectant drive into the Klein Karoo, the centrepiece of a spectacular safari experience. Our group, colourful and full of anticipation, follows the tracks of the wild animals through the extensive game reserve. Under the expert guidance of our guides, we discover the majestic Big Five – a breathtaking sight that takes our breath away. Every elephant call, every lion roar plunges us deeper into the fascinating African wilderness. As the sun sinks into the horizon, we find ourselves gathered around a crackling campfire, surrounded by the starry nights of the Karoo. Here, in this magical atmosphere, we enjoy an exquisite fine dining experience. Together we feast under the stars, swap stories and end the day in true South African hospitality.
